Job title: Moving Operations Manager
Reports to Eric Wright
Job purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of Wrightway Moving Company consisting of approximately 8+ contracted moving crews and 4+ packers and/or housekeeping contractors. This is accomplished primarily through: hiring, training, and motivating employees; controlling costs; managing daily logistics; and consistently exceeding customer expectations. The Operations Manager ensures Wrightway Moving is consistently operating in compliance with Wrightway Moving’s standards, and applicable laws and regulations. The Operations Manager should have general knowledge of hiring, training, crew monitoring, maintenance, and scheduling.
The moving industry is a fast-paced environment and the Operations Manager should be an individual that believes in doing whatever it takes to get the job done and always exceed the customer’s expectations. Supervising others with a positive attitude is key to being successful in this position.
Duties and responsibilities
Listed are the primary job duties and responsibilities for an Operation Manger with Wrightway Moving.
• Determines staffing requirements necessary to meet all weekly scheduling expectations
• Responsible for supervising day-to day logistics, operations, contractor accountability and adherence to Wrightway Moving’s standards and policies
• Directs crews daily scheduling and dispatch of movers and drivers
• Oversees the deliver and receipt of each contract, ensuring all documents are executed correctly and payment (cash or credit) is accounted for
• Troubleshoots crews daily issues while encouraging them to provide great customer service
• Monitor inventory of supplies and order as needed
• Ensures compliance with all Texas DMV, DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines
• Oversees customer concerns and damage resolution processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example to motivate, develop, and direct people
• Reviews financial performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
Qualifications
Qualifications required as an Operations Manager for Wrightway include:
• Strong decision making ability
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required
• Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, ability to pass a background check and if necessary, the ability to drive a 26 foot box truck
• Excellent oral and written comprehension and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example to motivate, develop, and direct people
Working conditions
As an Operations Manager for Wrightway Moving, there is a requirement for working weekends, outdoors, working with challenging contractors and clients, and working with individuals that speak another language.
Physical requirements
As an Operations Manager for Wrightway Moving, there may be times it is required to lift heave objects, do repetitive task with few breaks and supervising stressful situations
